Attention training

The base skill under focus, reading, and much of emotional regulation.

Attention is not a personality trait. It is a trainable capacity. The training principle is unremarkable: place attention on a chosen object, notice it wander, return, repeat. What matters is dosage and consistency.

Classrooms are ideal training grounds because dosage is built in — see the first five minutes and micropractices. Age-appropriate framing is essential; see adapting by age.
