Sanford Harmony is a social-emotional learning program developed at Arizona State University in 2008 and transferred to National University in 2014. It offers a classroom curriculum and tools for building healthy relationships in the classroom.

The program helps build healthy relationships, a sense of belonging, and interaction skills by integrating social-emotional development into the learning process. Its underlying approach holds that the quality of relationships and social-emotional skills are a necessary condition for effective learning and student well-being.

The program covers levels from Pre-K through grade 6, with some grades grouped into age bands (Pre-K–K, 1–2, 5–6), while grades 3 and 4 have separate curricula. Each grade/age group includes roughly 20 lessons of 30 minutes each, organized into five thematic units: diversity and inclusion, empathy and critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and peer relationships.

The program is supported by quasi-experimental studies and a large-scale project integrating academic and social learning (an EIR grant), evaluated by the independent AIR institute. The skills the program develops contribute to improved overall student achievement and strengthen key competencies (self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness).
