Inner Education

The integrated development of attention, emotion, body, mind and consciousness.

Inner Education is education that intentionally develops a child's inner capacities — attention, emotional regulation, body awareness, mental clarity and self-understanding — alongside the outer curriculum.

It is not a single method or a religion. It is a category of practice, most often expressed through secular, age-appropriate programs used in schools.

Examples

  • A daily 5-minute breath practice at the start of literacy lessons
  • A whole-school shared vocabulary for emotions
  • Teacher preparation programs that include adult mindfulness
