Lions Quest has existed for more than 40 years and offers age-appropriate curricula for elementary, middle, and high school. The program includes SEL lessons, family materials, and hands-on service projects.

The program develops the five CASEL competencies, positive relationships, responsible behavior, school engagement, and community service skills. Lions Quest links SEL development to the classroom, school, home, and community, and uses hands-on service projects as part of building these skills.

The program consists of three age-based stages: "Skills for Growing" (K–5), "Skills for Adolescence" (grades 6–8), and "Skills for Action" (grades 9–12). Lessons last 30 minutes (K–8) or 45 minutes (grades 9–12); according to official figures, elementary and middle school each include roughly 17–19 lessons per grade/year, while high school includes more than 100 lessons and spans anywhere from one semester to 4 years.

More than 6.7 million European students; more than 360,000 schoolchildren in Africa; no single up-to-date figure for the remaining countries and continents is available in public sources.

Implemented in more than 110 countries and geographic territories.

Materials have been translated into more than 45 languages.

CASEL evidence for Skills for Adolescence: a 1996–1997 RCT: 34 schools, 7,426 sixth-graders at baseline, 5,691 eighth-graders — one year after the intervention, marijuana use was lower, and among those who reported episodic drinking at baseline, recent episodic drinking was less frequent; the effect was linked to increased confidence in refusing substance use.

A 2007 quasi-experiment of 716 Norwegian students in grades 5–7 found improvements in social skills, school engagement, and self-confidence.
